  • Allergies
  • Coughs and colds

The Latest Trend in Kids' Medicine: Acupuncture

In Chinese medicine, diet is related to a wide range of childhood ailments.  Young children still have weak and immature digestive systems, unable to function as efficiently as an adult's.  Poor food choices, too much sweet or greasy food, or even just a diet that is inappropriate to the child's age and digestive system development can be the root cause of a host of problems.  Overuse of antibiotics and other strong medications further weaken the digestive system, resulting in an unending cycle of chronic and recurring health problems.

Needles are rarely used when treating young children as they respond quickly and positively to other gentle therapies.  In addition to dietary recommendations, your child's treatment will consist of acupressure, moxabustion, tuina (Chinese medical massage) or cupping.
