About Joy Lindquist, MS, L.Ac.
I am a New York State licensed and nationally board certified acupuncturist. I hold
a Master's degree in Acupuncture from the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a Bachelor's degree in Community
Health Education from Hunter College. I am also certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA)
as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
In addition to my experience as an acupuncturist, I spent ten years as a public health
educator working with various not-for-profit organizations and NYC agencies. My efforts helped to bring about greater
public awareness of childhood asthma, COPD, smoking and respiratory health, diet and nutrition, adolescent health issues and
addiction. The work brought me closer to my community and in touch with its healthcare needs.
The
foundation of my practice is my belief that there is a very powerful link between diet and disease that is frequently overlooked.
In addition to treating your immediate symptoms, I will often focus on your digestive health including dietary and nutritional
recommendations. Good health can be as simple as giving your body the nutrition it needs, helping you realize increased immunity, improved physical
strength and endurance, a healthy weight, enhanced mental clarity and an overall sense of well-being.
